Holly runs full tilt down a narrow street, panic written all over her face. “He stabbed me! ...Stabbed me!!” she gasps, clutching at her chest. Her thoughts tumble over themselves. “Or poked me. Was that a needle?”

She glances over her shoulder, eyes wide. “Oh god, did he drug me? Did he poison me?” Her breathing quickens as she stumbles through the crowd.

“Is my heart racing because I skip phys ed or because I’m dying??” she mutters between gasps. “Now we’re just gonna get drugged walking down the street? And he made me drop my food!” Her voice rises to a near shout as she throws up a hand in frustration. “I hate it here!”

Still shaking, she ducks into a side corridor, one hand braced against the wall as she looks around. Around the corner, a young man carrying a stack of wooden crates turns toward the noise, startled.
