High above the street, two pale-haired figures in dark cloaks crouch together on a rooftop. One smirks, watching the commotion below. “Am I hallucinating...? Did Oberon’s lapdog finally manage to tree a bear...?”
The other glances sideways with a small grin. “Could be... she looks a bit like the old man.”
“Maybe we’ll finally be going home....”
The second twin frowns. “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.”
They shift positions, peering toward the streets below. “We can’t even be certain Oberon’s fool is actually right,” one says. “I’ll have to touch her to know.”
The first rises, restless. “We could beat him to her easily. Should we—?”
“Of course not. Don’t be stupid.” The calmer twin turns back with a dry look. “Don’t you remember anything about hunting...?”
Below them, the city sprawls in rust and shadow. In the distance, Puck races through the alleys. The twin’s voice trails off as they lean on the ledge. “First, you let the hound tree the bear.”
