Puck freezes mid-step, staring at the girl in front of him. His thoughts race. “Oh… shit… she really does look like…” His pulse quickens. “What am I going to say? She’s going to think I’m insane.”
Across from him, the girl frowns warily, shifting her weight. Puck steels himself. “I’m only going to get one shot not to come off like a lunatic. Shit. She’s looking at me. Say something, you idiot. Do something…!”
In a sudden, awkward burst of panic, he lunges forward and jabs a small device against her chest—POK!
The girl’s reaction is instant and violent. With a cry of rage, she slams her forehead into his face. CRACK! Skewered meat and a cup of drink go flying as Puck stumbles back, blood gushing from his nose.
He doubles over, cursing through the pain, sputtering a wordless stream of furious sounds: “#@%★✖!!”
