FAQ

When does the comic update?

The comic officially updates here on the website, and on Patreon, on Wednesdays. There’s a free version on Patreon that’s just a little smaller than what’s posted here, and the paid supporters get the overwhelmingly huge, full-res version. Here on the site, I opted to go with something in between.

The comic is also mirrored on Fables.pro, Comicfury, and the Duck, but that version is 4–6 pages behind at any given time, and it updates on Thursdays! I gotta stagger things for my own sanity, you know? At the end of each issue, I post the full version on Global Comix as well.

Sometimes I go back and look at an older page and it seems different. What’s going on?

The version on my website and Patreon is put up as-is, often after just a final once-over. Sometimes I’ll spot something wrong, or something I don’t like, and go back and edit it! There’s a whole chunk of pages back in the beginning I’m slowly working on redrawing, because… well, I won’t get into it here, but I made some incredibly lazy dumb mistakes and I wanna fix them. Nothing I change will edit actual story content, though! That will stay the same.

Don’t you feel disrespectful, including bastardized figures from people’s religions in your story?

Nope, not at all! One of the basic tenets of the plot is that humans don’t know everything — in fact, they don’t know much at all, and there’s a lot of stuff going on outside their sphere they have no clue about. Some of the figures they worshipped weren’t gods at all, just creatures masquerading as gods (or the humans pinned that title on them). Some of them were actual deities, but they were different from the ways humans imagined them. Humans, after all, have a tendency to take the scraps of information they have and invent things to fill the gaps! And that’s all I’m really doing here, too.

This comic’s weird. Your art’s weird, too. It’s not manga, it’s not western-style, it’s not Disney-esque… why is your art so weird?

Because I grew up in a weird time, man. Disney was a big influence on my art, but so were the Pinis, Eastman/Laird, Spiegelman, the Hernandez brothers, Kojima, Frank Miller, Kaori Yuki… Add that to the fact that this is the first comic where I’ve done all the art — pencils, inks, colors, etc… and I’m still finding things that work and things that don’t. I’m kind of all over the place! Sorry!

How long will this story run?

The first story arc will probably run for about twenty issues, as I have it planned right now. When you can only put out a page a week, that’s a long, long time! If I could treat this like a full time job, I could put out more, probably roughly an issue a month. But in order to treat it like a full time job, I’d have to make full time job money, and right now I’m just not. I wish I could though! I’ve got dogs to feed!

How can I support your weird comic with its weird art?

Join my Patreon! I post extra art and goodies to try to make it worthwhile. I have a Ko-Fi too! I appreciate every bit of support I get, whether it’s monetary or not — but every little bit helps. I mostly blow it on vet visits and dog treats though.
